Honoring Loni Weholt

April 29th, 2010 by Kate & Brooke

Putting a purchase order into Loni’s hands felt like putting a paper boat I had folded into water for her to captain the ship. Every time, I knew without hesitation, that the boat would stay afloat. Loni would keep all passengers aboard safe. More than that every passenger would be fed, each would feel they were cared for, and they would all have FUN! I also knew that my artist’s visions were safe in her hands. As Kate says, she lifted each of them up! I give great thanks to the love, care and professionalism that she provided on every shoot for all of our artists. Tidepool is a family, and I trusted her with those that I love – crew, artists, agency, clients…Thank you Loni. You are so loved! Brooke

Give It Up For Loni—Please reserve Saturday, May 15, and join us in sending Loni off in true Loni style. We’ll light a bonfire at dusk on a yet to be determined beach in the Bay area. We hope you’ll join our community of friends and celebrate all that we’ve gained in knowing the beautiful Loni Bee. Details to follow…

Tax Day + Email Blast Day for Timothy Archibald

April 15th, 2010 by Kate & Brooke

As this concept took shape, sharing that It took me awhile to create my story around a baby being somehow alone in environment. Knowing my New Year’s resolve was to be able to go the distance with uncomfortable situations vs. a tendency to look-away, this image confronted that resolution head-on. Keeping that in mind, I didn’t turn away but rode the wave of my discomfort and spent time looking for a possibly good reality —that ultimately left me seeing the baby as happy with a caretaker nearby. As to how this series came about and Timothy’s creative thoughts, best to let his blog do the talking from his posting back in March titled “Notes from a Photograph”.

Almås in Latest Workbook

April 11th, 2010 by Kate & Brooke

Long ago I witnessed when The Workbook first came into existence. And many amazing-source-books-to-choose-from-later, think we can all very much give a respectful nod that WRKBK has stayed the course as well continues to promote, educate and advocate for artists.
